Matthew G. Karr, Esq. joined the firm as of counsel in 2010. Attorney Karr focuses his practice on estate planning, elder law and long-term care planning (Medicaid), MassHealth applications for long-term care (Medicaid applications), MassHealth fair hearings (appeals on Medicaid denials) and real estate.
Attorney Karr has experience in both the public and private sectors, having previously worked as an associate at Brown Rudnick, LLP and with several state agencies including MassDevelopment, the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. Attorney Karr has represented clients on a pro bono basis for various charitable organizations including the Lawyer’s Clearinghouse and the Volunteer Lawyer’s Project and has appeared before the Massachusetts Municipal, District and Superior
Courts as wells as various housing and entitlement boards.

Attorney Karr holds a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University, where he graduated cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa distinction. He received his Juris Doctorate from Boston College School of Law, where he was co-chair of the Community Economic Development Group. Attorney Karr is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Federal District Court of Massachusetts. He is also a licensed Massachusetts Real Estate Broker and is certified as a LEED Green Associate by the US Green Building Council. A lifelong Massachusetts native, attorney Karr grew up on the North Shore and now resides in Boston with his wife.
